In the books

The January 2010 ARTpARTy in Winston-Salem is in the books and we had a great turnout despite the somewhat crappy weather conditions. We actually had about 30 people here and 21 pieces of art. That may have been a record number of art works in the history of our 12 ARTpARTies. At this point though I must say that I botched the photography during the event, and that included taking no photo of Nancy Tuohy and her art work and no photo of Amy and I. :-(

It is done

So the art piece for tonight's ARTpARTy is done and I am in the situation where I want to keep it for myself. But this time it'll be going to someone else. The #2 pencils in the blue mug are numbered 1-24 and will be used to decide in which order people get to pick the artwork to take home. Now here is hoping the weather doesn't completely screw us. In a few days we are hosting another ARTpARTy and yesterday I finished my project for the party. Can't of course reveal the whole artwork yet but here is a little teaser.

Fun in Miami Beach

Last week we spent a few days in South Beach, Florida, but it wasn't a vacation. Amy had a conference and I was busy with work. The weather was not very nice and the temperatures were unusually cold. Oh well.

Eric and I had some German food at the Hofbraeuhaus in South Beach



Amy and I grabbed lunch the next day on Lincoln Ave in South Beach, but outside of that it was mostly work and no play.

Are you sure? Really sure? Very cool ad for an Austin, TX tattoo shop by Rhett&Link. Those guys are actually neighbors of sorts here in North Carolina.

Yummy dinner tonight

We have been trying to have more food variety during the week versus just having pasta and pizza, and tonight on the menu we had broiled salmon and lentils. It was quite good and reasonably healthy.

Clean air in NC

No more smoking in restaurants in North Carolina, it is the law now. I thought that day would never come.

How about some Football?

I met Gerre Goard more than 20 years ago when I lived in Narberth, Pa and I had not seen him for over 18 years until the summer of 2009 when he found me on facebook and realized I only live an hour away. Gerre works for Norfolk Southern and when one of his customers bailed on him late for a spot in their Carolina Panthers hospitality suite, he called me and I got to fill in. :-)
